Welcome Message & Blog 1: My Team, My Pharmily
Hey everyone!
Me and my team! From left to right:
Azura, our big sister - she would go on to take up the Project Officer position and is currently pursuing her Masters' Degree.
Rasathi, the boss and my closest mentor
Farah, the petite powerhouse - one of the most efficient of all of us, she know holds a student representative in her home university.
Philip - the quiet lad of the bunch, yet sporting and willing to lead
And of course, there is yours truly.
Mind you, it was not an easy task! I had my fair share of lecturing and then some from Rasathi - particularly in our handover in the last few months where I had some of my ideas vetoed with a firm voice from her. Unlike Rasathi, I am not what is considered to be an 'iron grip' kind of person, so I make up for that by using my persuasiveness to my best effect.
So, due to Facebook being too damn toxic and all, I decided to restart my blog. I must admit, I have no recollection whatsoever of what kind of retarded posts I use to do. However, for me, my blogs these days will have one common theme: giving life to the common day-to-day routines, especially in the life of a "boring" pharmacy student!
A little bit about myself - I'm your typical introverted geek at first glance. I prefer suits to tees, and fashion to comfort. It usually is hard for me to break the ice with others at the first meeting, especially if I'm busy - or if you are exceedingly attractive, I get very nervous. So yeah ... typical overthinking introverted geek. Anyways. Writing is part of my release system - it helps me to word out stuff and release pent-up emotions, sometimes even when I don't realise it.
So moving on to my first article! Well, you will think that a pharmacy student really is just about sitting in lectures, doing laboratory work, stressing on assignments and going to hospitals. It is all that, but there is so much more to what we can do. Therefore, I will start talking about my experience as a subcommittee member in my national organisation of pharmacy students, MyPSA - standing for the Malaysian Pharmacy Students Association.
I got involved in MyPSA about 22 months ago. Back then, freshman me did not really know what I will be getting into when I filled up the nomination form for the position of Executive Assistant to the Secretary General in December 2015. The surprise and curiosity grew as I received the news that I was one of the four chosen for the position! Work started off in January - and things got off to a great start. My go-to attitude, it would seem, left a profound impact on my direct superior, Rasathi (seen here second from left) and I would go on to learn under her for two consecutive years and succeed her, if that may be said, in the elections held last September.

And of course, this was the second team that I worked with in the past year:
Irfana, our camera holder from MSU, is the new oldest of the team; Kheshin on the lower left corner, rivals all of us in terms of skill and efficiency and Nishaal, the girl in the centre, who can be a tiger at times. Despite all that, we have forged ahead and synergised with our different personalities to make up what is meant by T-E-A-M.
And now, what will follow from the blog will be an amalgamation of different types of posts as I try out the difference styles of writing. Perhaps I will refine my posts to a singular genre in the future, but for now, its all out freestyle. ;)
